Too many chips on the dance floor.

So last month me and a few friends got entered in a popchips contest on facebook, we had to get the most likes on our photo to win. So we pretty much went insane with getting votes from everyone we could, and won! Well. Part of the prize was a years supply of popchips, which I kind of expected would just be slips for free bags whenever.... but I thought wrong. I came home from work today to find 12 boxes neatly stacked outside my door! I laughed pretty hard. I don't know where I'm going to store all of these.

Sailor Jerry Show

I'm totally snagging this photo from my friend who set everything up Wed night. The rest of the pictures look great, and there are some really nice pieces hanging in the store! I'm a little sad that I couldn't get a lot of really nice shading on her skin, but I've always struggled with skin tones. Really happy I found a weathered white frame though. A.C. Moore to the rescue!

This piece sold, and is on its way to a new home. Yay :D

Sailor Jerry Show

This is my color study for a show I'm participating in. Heavily referenced from some free stock I found on deviantart, since every pose I tried to come up with myself was garbage. Tomorrow I paint!

Sleeeeep

I've gotta catch a plane tomorrow, awake at 4am! So horrible. Hate flying so very very much. Watching G.I. Joe until I fall asleep. Man this movie is terrible. Scarlett's weapon takes like.. no skill to operate. It locks onto its target and fires. Wow. How cool.. :| But yay Zartan! The only positive thing about this movie in my opinion. HURR.

Tomorrow I fly away, so I'm leaving you with a little sketch of the Sniper from Monday Night Combat. A very excellent game you can buy in the xbox arcade, worth every penny! hehe. I just wish that update would roll around so that the glitches are fixed.

Update?

I'm happy to say my Anubis painting sold last week! He's all packed up and ready to go to his new home.

Ho-hum. So aside from that I've been doodling up a storm here. Though recently I've slowed down a lot because I started working a holiday job. I plan to update every other monday with character designs, since I'm really interested in building a portfolio around that. Lets see how it goes I suppose! c;

Gotta get in the habit of blogging. Even if no one reads it.

Lazy Summer

I've been busy moving back home and getting my things together that I haven't done much work for my portfolio lately. I can't tell if I've given up, or am just still worn out from school. I imagine its the second, who knows. So for now here's a piece I did for a friend. Just a little sketch with some digital coloring.

Snowflake, from Fallout 3, property of Bethesda Softworks.

One of these days when I'm not running around all day I can update my website, and this blog. Because they both need working on. Not that I believe myself to have an audience. It would just be nice to actually get everything in order regardless.

Busy bees guys..

Busy bees!
This week is my schools liberal arts week. I have one final.. today. On my birthday. Sort of stinks, but oh well.
I'm working on a few more images for my portfolio, so I figured I'd update with some sketches!

I've been waiting all semester to do a piece inspired by either China or Japan, so I decided that one of my last pieces would be a Chinese dragon. I'm still working on the sketch, but its kind of cute I think.

This is something I've wanted to do all semester, a bibly easter card. They are some of my favorite animals, so I'm very excited to paint this. You can read more about them on wiki,

Well, thats all for now. Portfolio day is coming up soon, followed by graduation.. yay.

I finally purchased my own website, and put it all together. Its very very basic, but I sort of like it.
I have a lot more I want to do with it...but thats a job for next weekend I suppose!

Anyway, here is my url : http://www.natashastuhl.com

Heres a sketch I did a few days ago while taking a break from school work. Its just a little something, since I don't have much else to update with.

Recap

A whole lot of things have happened since I last updated this blog ( or well, last serious update.). For starters, I'm a senior now! Finally! Graduation will be wonderful, out into the real world.. which is a scary place in all reality, but I'm ready for a new adventure. Another is that I've settled on a market (finally), I'm aiming for the children's department in general. Filling my portfolio with children's book spreads, spot illustrations, and holiday cards. Hopefully everything will work out nicely for me, I have no idea how I'm going to pull it all off.. but. Easy come easy go! I have a lot of work to do in the coming weeks!

Here's a sketch for now,

Anubis, for a children's book on the Egyptian gods. I was really into Egypt as a child ( and arguably still am.), so I'm really excited to paint this. I hope to follow it up with some small spot illustrations of canopic jars. I'm still working on the sketches of those, and should post them when I'm finished. This blog doesn't get enough attention from me! Not that I have many readers, but its still nice to update I believe.

I've taken to drawing with Prismacolor color erase pencils lately, red being my favorite one to use so far. I think my pencil sketches are coming out more solid, when compared to my digital sketches. I'm enjoying the process more as well. c:

Ho-hum. I suppose thats all for now.

Someone stole our snow shovel. Right in the middle of a giant snow storm. Jerks.
Here's some Big Daddy snow action for you :

Because taking photos of action figures doing funny things is one of my favorite things to do.
( Bioshock 2 was released today, picked up my copy in the snow. )

I should update with art sometime soon.
